My Best Friend's Daughter!!!!

Stella!!!!

Last weekend, I went to see my best friend Paige's brand new little baby. She was born on September 23, 2010 at 4:47 and weighed 6lbs 7oz. She is absolutely perfect and soooo beautiful! I went to visit her on September 24 and stayed in Vicksburg until September 26. I started to miss her the moment I was driving home and I can't wait to see her again!! I know Steve and Paige are so proud of her. They are going to make such great parents!  I sure wished they lived closer to me.

Now, just waiting on my good friend Becca to have her baby. She is past her due date now, but will be induced on Monday if no progress occurs before then. Can't wait to meet her sweet little Martin!
Also, my friend Stephanie is due in December and expecting a little girl. And my great friend Rachael just found she is expecting a little one-due April 26, 2011!!!!

Ole Miss v. Tulane

I know it has been a really long time since I have blogged about my life, so here is an update!

September 10, Ashton and I went to New Orleans to stay the weekend to watch our Rebels play Tulane. We got there around 8 o'clock that night, because I worked all day and she had clinicals for nursing school. We were extremely tired and told ourselves that we probably would not go out, that we would just save all of our energy for Saturday and the Game!!! Well we checked into our hotel and we sat there for about 20 minutes and decided that we couldn't come to New Orleans without going out. So we freshened up and met up w/our friends from Oxford.
Here are some pictures from that night:

Not sure what Ashton is doing!

And look who I ran into on Bourbon Street......my long lost sister!

Salena

Saturday, September 11, was GAME DAY!!!!
We got dressed and headed to Bourbon Street about 11:30am. We had to pick up our tickets for the Shark Tank Party at 12:30. To kill time, we stopped and had daiquiris.
We picked up our tickets and all of our Rebel gear and headed to the bar until the party started at 3:30. The Shark Tank Party was a lot of fun!!! It was 3 hours long and was located at 4 different bars on Bourbon Street. (Bourbon Cowboy, Beach on Bourbon, Howl at the Moon, and The Saloon). The party was open bar and free food-the best red beans/rice I have ever eaten!!! After the party, we walked over to the Superdome and watched the game. Ole Miss won 27-13.

Here is a youtube video from the party:

By the way, I love New Orleans!!!!!!!!!!!!

Independence Day

This 4th of July was definitely a unique experience. It was a lot of fun and I had a great time, but things were just a little different than our traditional Independence Day. Normally, my family spends every 4th out at Horn Island. This year, we had to make new plans due to the fact that the island is closed because of the oil spill. Not to mention, we couldn't get our boat out of the bayou (it is closed off w/booms) if we tried. So instead, on Saturday, we made a river run!!! Our good friend Jonathan took us out on his boat and we met some friends up the river. It was a lot of fun, but still no island. Every sandbar was PACKED w/people, so we stopped at a friend's camp and hung out there all day. Sunday we had a cookout at my parent's house with lots and lots of good food, family, friends, and fireworks!!!! I hope everyone else had a great 4th of July!

Here are some photos of the festivities:

Sex and The City 2!!!!

Sex and The City is one of my favorite tv series of all time. I started watching the series when it was airing its final season. A friend that lived in the same dorm at Ole Miss, owned every season on DVD and she made me start watching from the very first episode. By the end of Season 1, I was absolutely hooked!!!! Needless to say, when the last season was over, I was devastated. But.....lo and behold, Sex and The City The Movie was released!!!! It was amazing! I went to the theatres three times to see it, and I now own the dvd Wedding Edition. To say the least, I was ecstatic when I found out there was going to be a sequel!!!
Even though the shows are a tad provocative, it tells a great stories of lasting friendships, love, and life in general. Each episode teaches a mini life lesson. (Well, it did for me.)

Some Quotable Quotes:
"The most important thing in life is your family. There are days you love them, and others you don't. But, in the end, they're the people you always come home to. Sometimes it's the family you are born into, and sometimes its the ones your make for yourself."

"But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.”

"I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love."
"Maybe some women aren't meant to be tamed. Maybe they need to run free until they find someone just as wild to run with them."

"It's good to know that the ones you love will always be in your heart. And if your very lucky, only a plane ride away."

"I make mistakes. That's what I do. I speak without thinking, I act without knowing. I drink so much that I can barely walk. I'm a fantastic lover though, and an amazing friend. God knows I mean well."

OIL...

So..I don't really know where to start about this oil tragedy. I feel so lost, helpless, and just deeply sad! I am very sad about what happened at the oil rig and I pray for the families of those who lost their lives. As for the rest of the problem, who really knows what exactly will happen with the Gulf Coast. I think it is far worse than what we are being told by the media and our President. Our beautiful, peaceful, serene beaches will be no more. Our wildlife, marine habitat, tourism, fishing and shrimping industries will be hit hard by this crisis. The fear of the unknown is what has me worried. I love living on the MS Gulf Coast and I hope that things start looking up soon.
If anyone would like to help w/the clean-up process, visit this site-

Probably won't be anymore of these days for awhile.........soooooo sad!

Hey There!

Well, I figured since I like to read my friends' blogs, that I might as well just start my own. Who knows...some people may actually read it! I have no idea what I plan to write about. I keep my life semi-private, but this may help me learn new ways to express myself. Let's see how it goes!
